Introducing my Free Cardmaking Class: 5 Cards from the Same 4 Squares

Class Description for 5 Cards from the Same 4 Squares

As with my first class, 15 Holiday Cards in 1 Hour, I am going to make the video tutorial portion free on YouTube and make the workbook a paid extra. I believe you will be able to make the cards without the workbook, but you might find it a helpful supplement.

In this class, we will make 5 cards in the A2 size using 1.5 inch scraps of patterned paper and sketches. I demonstrate in a video how you can make each card. This class is based on my 6×6 Paper Busting Template for A2 Cards #32. I realized there were several other ways I could use the 1.5 inch squares from that template. But I also thought 1.5 inch squares would be easy to pull from scrap piles. The cutting template and two sketches are the same as 6×6 PBT for A2 #32 but the other 3 sketches are new.

The template and the coordinating sketches will also work for many themes. For other themes, simply choose other paper and embellishments.

The workbook will contain full instructions for completing the projects including pictures as well as the sketches, and a patterned paper cutting template if you are not using scraps. There will also be sample photos for reference. You should be able to complete the projects with only the video or only the workbook, but they are designed to compliment each other.

Supplies for 5 Cards from the Same 4 Squares

For the class you will need:

Supplies:

  • 20 pieces of patterned paper measuring 1.5 inches square (most can be directional)
  • 20 pieces of coordinating card stock measuring 1.75 inches square
  • 3 sheets of white 8.5×11 card stock
  • a paper trimmer
  • a scissors
  • adhesive (tape runner recommended)
  • coordinating ephemera or other means of decorating cards

Optional:

  • organizing tray, box, bag, or envelope
  • a scoring board
  • a bone folder
  • 1 coordinating color of ink
  • 1 stamp set with coordinating small sentiments
  • extra white card stock
  • a stamp block
