Introducing my Free Cardmaking Class: A Burst of Birthday Cards

Class Description for A Burst of Birthday Cards

As with my first class, 15 Holiday Cards in 1 Hour, I am going to make the video tutorial portion free on YouTube and make the workbook a paid extra. I believe you will be able to make the cards without the workbook, but you might find it a helpful supplement.

In this class, we will make 18 birthday cards. We will use 2 pieces of 12×12 paper and have no patterned paper scraps leftover. The template and sketch are exclusive to the class and not available other ways. There are some additional options for paper and the number of cards you make will depend on the paper you choose. The sketch will also work for many themes. For other themes, simply choose other paper and embellishments.

The template and the coordinating sketch will also work for A6 and A7 (5×7) cards. For A6 cards you will not need to change any measurements, but the paper will still be cut with US customary measurements, no metric measurements are provided.

The workbook will contain full instructions for completing the projects including tutorial pictures, a patterned paper cutting template and sketches in both A2, 5×7, and A6 sizes. There will also be sample photos of each card for reference. You should be able to complete the projects with only the video or only the workbook, but they are designed to compliment each other.

Supplies for A Burst of Birthday Cards

There are several other choices for paper that are explained in the video and workbook. For the class you will need:

Supplies:

• 2 sheet of 12×12 patterned paper (double sided and non-directional)
• 18 card bases
• a paper trimmer
• adhesive
• pack of coordinating ephemera

Optional:

• organizing tray, box, bag, or envelope
• a scoring board
• a bone folder
• a scissor
• additional supplies for decorating cards (ink, stamps, sentiments, etc)
