Hello crafty friends! Today I wanted to sharing a set of cards I made while testing an embossing folder technique. For more about the entire process of making the card please check out the video below.
Spellbinders sent me the embossing folder and stamp set used in today’s post and affilaite links are used below.
I\’ve long admired the beautiful results that I\’ve seen others achieve with the inked embossing folder technique but have had mixed results. So for today\’s cards I wanted to try the two most popular inks in my collection with the technique so I know which one to reach for in the future. I tried a Distress Oxide Ink Pad and a small dye ink pad. I found that the felt pad on both of those made it easier to skim the raised part of the embossing folder and would not recommend a foam ink pad for easiest results. However the larger surface of the Distress Oxide Pad achieved much cleaner results. If you are careful enough you can use any ink pad with the technique but for the fastest and most consistent results I recommend a large felt based ink pad. I will be reaching for my Distress Oxides for this technique going forward.
The inked embossing folder technique is just perfect for this beautiful Falling Leaves embossing folder from Spellbinders and those solid pumpkins from Charming Pumpkins are a great focal point. I look forward to coloring the outline pumpkins included in the set as well in the future.
